SA vs ENG Dream11 Team Prediction (1st T20), Fantasy Cricket Tip & Playing 11 Updates for Today's Cricket Match

SA vs ENG Dream11 Team Prediction

With Tests and ODIs behind them, England and South Africa will shift their focus to the T20 format with the first T20I to be held on Wednesday.  Although South Africa has been affected several times, the tour has been largely dominated by the English.  Despite resting some key players, England managed to draw the ODI series and maintain their momentum in the shortest format.

For South Africa, they will try to fix their roster with the ICC T20 World Cup on their agenda.  Both teams have a good mix of youth and experience, although English will be the favorite title in the game.  Here are some tips to help you choose your Dream 11 team for SA vs ENG.

SA vs ENG team:

  South Africa:

Quinton de Kock (C), Reeja Hendrix, Temba Bavuma, Rasi van der Doosan, David Miller, JJ Smuts, Dwine Pretorius, Andile Fehlukwe, Sisanda Magala, Petrus van Biljon, Heinrich Klassen, Beur Hendrix, Dendrix, Dendrix Shamsi and Lungi Engsi  .

  England:

Eoin Morgan (C), Jason Roy, Jose Butler, Ben Stokes, Johnny Bairstow, David Malan, Moin Ali, Joe Denley, Sam Curran, Tom Curren, Saqib Mehmood, Chris Jordan, Matthew Parkinson, Adil Rashid and Mark Wood.

Playing 11 update:

  South Africa:

Temba Bavuma and Beuran Hendrix starred for them in South Africa's last T20 series against India.  South Africa won on Wednesday with Dale Steyn joining.  The batting unit ties up with De Kock and Hendrick, opening the batting for them.  David Miller's form is also good for the Proteas, who have enough batting depth.  Veteran Dale Steyn led the bowling attack with Nagidi and Hendrix, while Tabrez Shamsi appeared to fill Imran Tahir's big shoes in the T20 set.

Expected XI: D Cock (C & WK), Reeja Hendrix, Bavuma, Doosan, Smuts / Biljan, Miller, Fehlukwayo, Stan, Shami, Nagidi and Beuran Hendrick.

  England:

The return of the English duo, Jose Butler and Ben Stokes, adds much needed strength to the English roster as they draw the first blood at Buffalo Park.  Roy and Bairstow started batting, while David Malan should be allowed to bat at number three, following his feats in New Zealand last year.  Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes preferred Joey Denley and Moin Ali in the mid-day order.  Bowling has diversity under the leadership of Chris Jordan and Tom Curren.  Adil Rashid should be one to watch as well as Mark Wood as the spinner above Parkinson.

Potential XI: Roy, Bairstow, Butler (WK), Morgan (C), Stokes, Malan, Ali, Tom Curren, Jordan, Rashid and Wood.

South Africa vs England, 1st T20I

 12th February 2020, 9:30 PM IST

 Buffalo Park, East London

Pitch Report:

Buffalo Park is a relatively high scoring venue with scores above 165 being a common occurrence.  However, the spinners should offer some swings for the paces alternately in the middle overs.  Chasing is the preferred choice for both sides when they win the toss with some clouds expected to make an appearance during the match.

SA vs ENG Dream11 Tips:

Wicket-keeper: Should Johnny Bairstow and Quinton de Cock be players in their favor, his recent form is exemplary.  De Kock performed brilliantly in both Test and ODI, while Bairstow's fast bowlers gave him a good catch in the third ODI.  If England had batted first, one could have chosen Butler, who is one of the most destructive batsmen in this format.

SA vs ENG All-rounders Tips:

All-rounders: England's leading all-rounder, Ben Stokes should be in a side.  In addition to his explosive batting, the Durham all-rounder specializes in bowling as well as death.  Given his feats in the Test series, Stokes should be a reliable selection.  Another fast bowler all-rounder, Andile Fehlukwayo has been prolific for the Proteas in this format.  Although he does not generate high speed, his subtle variations often result in a wicket or two, which should signal him for the game.

Batsman: Although he is more established in the Test format, Temba Bavuma is a key member of the South African limited overs set as well.  He had a brilliant T20I series against India and also scored 232 runs in six innings in the Minsi Super League 2019.  Bawuma as well as the likes of Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy were warranted a spot on the side due to their experience.  In this format, with a southpaw of 57.25, David Malan is another meaningful option.

Bowler:

Bowler: Returning Dale Steyn has had a productive year in this format.  In the MSL, Steyn took just fifteen of eight wickets for the Cape Town Blitz.  With his experience adding to his case, Stan should make the cut with Tom Curren.  Adil Rashid is another viable option after his performance in the third ODI.  While Tabrez Shamsi also retained the side in one place, Chris Jordan and Beauran Hendrick could also be picked with wicket-taking ability due to being reliable.
